Some Thoughts On High Heels

Ouch!

After reading what Petrel41 of Dear Kitty.  Some Blog had written about high heels being required wear for women at the Cannes film festival, I realized that the more that things change, the more they stay the same.

They talk about women being liberated.  Women being treated like equals.  Yet women are still required to conform by adopting extremes in fashion.  Extremes in fashion have been here since the beginning of time.

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and with extreme fashions this must be strictly the case.  Any type of body adornment is rarely, if ever, purely utilitarian.  Some might have had a purpose, most don’t.  What is the purpose of nose piercing?  Does making yourself 5 inches taller, really get you anything?

With wearing high heels, you can end up with significant problems than can harm you for the rest of your life.  Is it really worth it?
