Guacamole Deviled Eggs

Posted on Updated on

From Dit Elle!

This is definitely a healthier deviled eggs recipe.  Mayonnaise is replaced by avocado.  Did you know that avocados are one of two fat sources that has HDL or good cholesterol in it?  I think the other is coconut oil.

Why do we like HDL?  Well, HDL is like a vacuum cleaner.  It sucks up LDL(bad cholesterol) and carries it out of the body.  High levels of LDL leads to heart disease, which is the number one cause of death in Americans.

So, if you can find a luscious  recipe like this that will make you healthier, shouldn’t you try it?

I can’t believe I’ve never thought of this. I am a fiend for avocados and deviled eggs! And you’re right avocados are very good for you! Who doesn’t need a little healthy fat in their lives?

I believe in moderation. What most people don’t know is that you have to have some fat in your diet. You can only get Omega 3 fatty acids from dietary fat. You need it in order to utilize certain types of vitamins Vitamin E, K(for clotting), D and I think A.

      Thanks!

I’m not a huge fan of mayo, and have also heard from other people that avocado can be a good substitute not just for deviled eggs but also egg salad. Gonna have to try this!
