All I can say is OMG! It’s beautiful. And yes! I love eggnog. So much that I make eggnog bars for Christmas every year. I showed this to Jim and this is going to be part of our Halloween supper tonight!
As a kid, I thought that Halloween was all about dressing up in costume. Going door to door to yell Trick or Treat. And collecting the treats. I always did wonder what the trick part was about. Some kids went around the neighborhood TP’ing trees. That was about it.
When I got older, I understood that Halloween was connected to All Saints Day. I thought it was the day when the ghosts showed up to get into heaven. I never gave it much more thought than that. From Once Upon A Spice!
I love candy corn! There is nothing else quite like it. The taste and texture was so different from the other candies I got. One of the saddest things is that we only would see it around Halloween. Fortunately, I was the only one in my family that liked it. So any candy corn was MINE!
These days, I will buy a couple of bags in October. Then stick them in the freezer, so they are there when I have the craving. I just thought them as something to grab a handful and pop in my mouth.
When I saw these recipes, I thought why didn’t I think of this. They are all so clever. That’s why I love food blogs!
When I was younger in my wilder days, I would have love the shots. I wanted to share this with you, because all these recipes are super easy and pretty quick. They are great ideas if you need to do something last minute!

How clever! I especially love the spider web. I started chanting ”Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive” Is that from Shakespeare? My son would have started singing itsy bitsy spider! LOL.
If you can’t wear a costume on Halloween, this is a way to celebrate it! It would definitely be a conversation starter!

Another day, another pumpkin recipe. If you have a Halloween Party over the weekend, these would be great! The blend of the pumpkin spice(cinnamon, nutmeg, & ginger) sounds great. I love the icing. They use mascarpone cheese, which is not easy to find in my stores. I am going to substitute it with cream cheese. The recipe is in metric, so here is the conversion table!

She always has great posts, but this is perfect for Halloween! We have 100% chance of rain for Halloween, so this will give us some fun if we do get stuck inside!

How much to you really know about Halloween? Get questions and create a free trivia game. Can you tell how much Candy Corn is in that jar? Light a candle, shut off the lights, and tell a spooky ghost story. Do you want to be the mummy? And my favorite? The Feel & Guess box. Are those really greasy gopher guts or something more sinister?

I missed National Pumpkin Day! Yikes! It was yesterday. Here I have been posting pumpkin recipes for over a week, and I didn’t even know. Thanks to Boastful Food, I will know from here on in.
They posted a wonderful recipe for pumpkin wontons. All spicy and creamy on the inside. Crispy outside. Heaven. Even the dipping sauce looks wonderful. Is it spicy sweet and sour? Check out the recipe. It looks great!

I love it! She has a list of Halloween movies for kids! So often, we forget that Halloween is a day for our kids. They can dress up. Go to parties. Hey, we even get kids who are tricker treating! Here are some films that can increase their enjoyment of the day. Some of the films I watched as a kid. Some of these films I watched with my kid.

When Lana sent this out, I thought she meant finger foods like chips and dips. Buffalo wings. But she really meant FINGER FOODS! Foods that look like fingers. I have joked with her about serving them to my husband without telling him. And I will do that. I haven’t done it yet, but I can’t stop laughing thinking about it!
Better yet, I have a potluck I am going to on Friday evening. I am definitely going to do one of these ideas. You all need to go and check out Once Upon A Spice. She has some other great ideas for Halloween!
