Family Recipe: Johnny Appleseed Pie

From Free Form Happiness!

One of the best memories growing up was apple picking in the fall.   Some people were lucky enough to have apple trees in their yard.  For the rest of us, we would go out to apple orchards.  These orchards were common in Illinois.  If you wanted cherries, you could go to Wisconsin.

It would be an all day trek to the apple orchard.   The days tended to be sunny and crisply cool.  Walking through the rows of trees, we would find only the best apples, eating a couple as we went.

I saw this recipe and was reminded of those days.  We would make jellies, butters, AND pies.  This is unique in that there is chocolate chips in the pie.  Also bisquick for the crust.  I don’t use premade food items.  Here is a recipe for homemade bisquick.

YUMMMMMMMM!!!!

That looks really good! Are those cranberries on the top? Apples and cranberries go together so well! Also pie is amazing!
