It’s a new year and a new beginning. Over the last couple of weeks, I have thinking about what 2016 will be bringing us. Bringing me, especially with this blog. It’s a vegetarian food blog. Though I will go off on a tangent if there is an idea that intrigues me. And that happened a lot. This year I want to be a little more structured.
A couple of days ago, I shared a post from the Mint Custard blog on Quorn. I think that Quorn is one of the best substitutes for meat. I like the texture. The taste is pretty good. I have been using it for years as my basis for a piccata. Or pot pie. Or in a salad.
Lately, it has become more difficult to find in stores around me. I live on an island off the coast of ‘cow country’(Texas). I have been having to drive up to Houston to buy my Quorn. However, last week I stumbled upon a product that might be a pretty good substitute for the Quorn. It’s called Beyond Meat.

I have been using Quorn to replace chicken in recipes for years. The texture of quorn is just like that of chicken. I have used this in meat dishes and my die hard meat eaters in the family, LOVE IT!

I Love Breakfast! I can’t say this enough. I will eat a breakfast meal at any time in the day.
When I saw this post and just had to read it. EDSR got the recipe from a Buzzfeed article. She tested it out and I love how it looks! I can almost taste the Avocado on the muffin and the eggs. It looks absolutely great. Please go and check it out!

This looks so wonderful. It would make a great dinner for my husband and I. Eggs have a lot of protein. Avocado is the good fat. It’s high in HDL which carries away the bad cholesterol(LDLs). This also is fast and easy to make. In these hot days of summer, do you really want to spend that much time in the kitchen?
