Pimped pumpkin ice cream shots

From Ice Cream Magazine!

I am still on the pumpkin binge.  I determined to find as many great recipes as possible for pumpkin.  I truly believe that pumpkin is highly underrated next to it squash kin of butternut and acorn squash(I do love these varieties though).

I ran across this recipe for pimped pumpkin ice cream shots.  I love Ice Cream Magazine wonderful articles(I have posted about them before).  This article gave me a chuckle.  They too are having a canned pumpkin shortage!  You all better get out there and get your pie pumpkins!

Go a read the article.  It has some great instructions and ideas.  I love the idea of using a gingersnap for a coaster!

APRICOTS, THREE WAYS

From Bewitching Kitchen!

I saved this post for apricots a while back.  Apricots are one of my very favorite fruits as a kid.  I think that I was the only one in my family who went nuts over them.  And they were one of the most expensive fruits out there.  Needless to say, my mom might by them once when they were in season.  They were a big treat for me.

I saw this post and saved it to have for the next time I see apricots for sale.  There is the recipe for a compote, sorbet, and ice cream.  Personally, I am going to make the compote.  There is nothing like warm compote over vanilla ice cream.   Mmm.

Two Great flavors kiwi & bananas together!  The creaminess comes from the banana.  There is no added sugar, which makes it pretty healthy.

National Ice Cream DayI got my daily trivia dose in my e-mail. It’s National Ice Cream Day! I love ice cream and so I have to share this with you. Here are the trivia questions. Do you know the answers?

    1. Häagen-Dazs was Started by a Couple Living in What Country?

    1. What Major Band was Formed at a Dairy Queen in Anaheim?

    1. What Medical Problem for Ben Cohen Helped Make Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream So Chunky?

  1. What’s So Special About the Ice Cream Made by the Company Called 196 Below?

If you couldn’t answer all the trivia questions and really want to know, you can go here!   http://triviatoday.com/blog/featured.asp   Now, tell me you don’t want some ice cream?  If you do, go ahead. After all, carpe diem! Seize the Day! You can go out and buy some ice cream. Or if you really don’t want to go out, I pulled up some simple recipes for you! Homemade ice cream is so much better! Here goes!

My husband absolutely loves mint chocolate chip ice cream. This is a fast and easy recipe.   http://allrecipes.com/recipe/easy-mint-chocolate-chip-ice-cream/   Now this recipe requires an ice cream maker. Have you ever used one of the old fashion ones? The ones that you have to put the ice cream tub in and then put layers of salt and ice around the tub. How messy! Thanks to technology today, it’s easier than ever to churn ice cream. We bought this Hamilton Beach ice cream maker. It’s cheap and you can make ice cream any time now!   http://www.hamiltonbeach.com/ice-cream-makers-1.5-quart-capacity-ice-cream-maker-68320.html

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Recipe

If you don’t want to go out and make an ice cream maker, here is a recipe that doesn’t need one. And it’s for vanilla! All you need are some bananas and chocolate syrup and you have a sundae!   http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/vanilla-bean-ice-cream-4

Bourbon-Butter-Salted Pecan Ice Cream Recipe

And I have to give you this recipe for Bourbon Butter & Salted Pecan ice cream. I am from the south and we love our bourbon and pecans. I haven’t tried it yet, but I think I might actually do it this week! Yum!   http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/bourbon-butter-salted-pecan-ice-cream     And finally, from Popsugar, a recipe for our vegans. And it’s suppose to help you lose weight! LOL!   http://frame.bloglovin.com/?post=4437854754&group=0&frame_type=p&context=&context_ids=&blog=22471&frame=1&click=0&user=0
